Why Am I Seeing “Unable to locate this TxnHash” on block explorer?

Blockchain has its limits too and multiple failed and pending transactions can introduce all sorts of issues for its users.

Usually, when the transaction is completed, the expected behavior is that you should see a valid transaction hash on block explorer.

However, if you have multiple ongoing or pending crypto transactions that are never been completed, eventually you might run into errors.

One of them is pending transaction that has no transaction hash.

So how can we get rid of old pending transactions?

The answer and solution is simpler than you think.

How To Fix “Sorry we are unable to locate this TxnHash”

To solve the issue:

1. Sign to your MetaMask wallet

If you use MetaMask extension on Chrome or Firefox, open it and sign in to your wallet.

If you have few addresses, pick from the dropdown the mainnet of blockchain and the wallet you want to use for the transaction.

2. Go to Settings

Click the circle icon in upper right corner of MetaMask and then select “Settings”.

In “Settings”, click “Advanced” section.

3. Clear Transaction History

Inside “Advanced” section, you should see “Reset Account” button - click it.

Don’t worry - resetting your account won’t affect your wallet balance or Secret Recovery Phrase.

It will clear your transaction history so that there will be no more old pending transactions listed.

That’s all! Your transactions should go through from now on.

If the error happening again, just reset your account on MetaMask again.

Summary
