How to Make a Shulker Box

Now, the steps to make a Shulker Box are not so easy to follow as with other types of chests.

First, before you head to a crafting menu, you should know that the only way to make Shulker Boxes in Minecraft is by going to The End.

At this point, you might be familiar with The End dimension: a dark place where terrifying enemies, such as the Enderman, are waiting for their chance to rip your head off.

There’s no need to be afraid: follow this tutorial, grab your sword and let’s go to The End!

There’s also the possibility to create Shulker Boxes using a Give Command. It’s the same Give Command for all Minecraft editions, so it’s pretty straightforward. Simply use /give @p shulker_box 1.

Find Shulkers in End Cities

If you want to make a Shulker Box in Minecraft, then you can’t avoid End Cities. But, more importantly, you need to find and kill Shulkers to obtain their Shulker Shells.

These mobs are hard to kill since they are constantly teleporting when they sense danger. Nevertheless, you can’t obtain a Shulker Shell without killing a few of them, so there’s no other option for you.

Follow This Recipe to Craft a Shulker Box

Once you’ve got the Shulker Shells, you are almost done. You will also need a regular chest, but it shouldn’t be a problem for you to find it.

First, go to the crafting table.

Arrange the Shulker Shells and The Chest in the Correct Order

The items must be placed in the 3x3 crafting grid as shown in the following image:

Just place the chest in the centermost slot and the Shulker Shells in the first row and the third row, surrounding the chest.

Save the Shulker Box to Your Inventory

There you go! That’s all you need to craft a Shulker Box in the Crafting Table. Don’t forget to move the Shulker Box to your inventory.

How to Dye a Shulker Box

You can dye a Shulker Box with any color! This allows you to customize and even identify your boxes.

To do this, just put the Shulker Box on the crafting table next to any type of dye.

If you want to remove the color, just place a cauldron and fill it with water. Once you put the Shulker Box inside the cauldron, you’ll see how the water level will drop, causing the color to disappear.
