Crafting Grid vs. Crafting Table

The crafting grid is the default crafting area in Minecraft.

Players can also craft a block or an item in this crafting area, but there’s a problem: it’s really limited.

The crafting grid is meant to craft very simple items only.

You can add items and resources to it, but the most important items in the game can only be crafted using a Crafting Table.

Iron Ingots, Golden Apples, Obsidian Block, and other items can only be obtained by using a crafting table, so you will need it one way or another.

How to Make a Crafting Table in Minecraft

Now that you know that the Crafting Table is a must in this blocky universe, you need to know how to make one.

In fact, this is one of the main activities you’ll do once you spawn in the Overworld.

Scroll down, carefully check these steps, and gather each material needed for this mission!

Step 1: Find Wood to Craft Wood Planks

First, you need to find a tree trunk.

Since the crafting table is made out of wood, you need to break a log and pick it from the ground.

There are trees all over the place in the Overworld, and you can break them easily.

Just press the right-click on your mouse or press the X button if you are playing on Xbox to obtain wood.

Step 2: Place a Wood Block on the 2x2 Crafting Grid

Now, you need wood plank.

A wooden plank can be crafted using the wood you just obtained from a tree.

One block of wood will give you four wood planks.

Thus, just place the block in the 2x2 crafting grid, and you’ll be almost done.

Step 3: Put Four Wooden Planks on the Crafting Space

Once you have the wooden planks, you practically need to repeat the process.

Remember that, in order to save items, you must move them to your inventory.

Move the oak wood planks to your inventory, and then place the four planks in each box of the crafting grid.

It is safe to mention that you can use wooden planks of any kind, so you are not limited to any specific type of wood planks.

Now that the four boxes are full of planks, the crafting table will appear.
